This choropleth covers all 23 districts of West Bengal on five NFHS indicators — sex ratio at birth, female literacy (15-49), institutional delivery, full immunization and child stunting — with a toggle between NFHS-4 (2015-16) and NFHS-5 (2019-21), so roughly five years of change is visible on each metric. State averages moved from a sex ratio at birth of 932 to 973, female literacy 70.5% to 76.1%, and full immunization 84.4% to 87.8%.
Six districts created after NFHS-4 was fielded — Alipurduar, Kalimpong, Jhargram, Paschim and Purba Bardhaman, and Paschim and Purba Medinipur — carry values reconstructed from their parent districts and are flagged as such in the data.
